Questions and answers
How booking works, what things cost and what to expect, for every service. Prices are on the pricing page.
Booking and payment
How do I book?
Real estate, drone and portrait sessions: pick a time on the booking page calendar. Anything custom: send a request or a quote. I confirm by email within one business day, after an airspace check for any drone work, with a link to sign and pay.
How do I pay?
A $100 deposit holds a session date. Real estate is paid in full before the shoot. I send the payment link when I confirm.
How far ahead should I book?
At least 48 hours ahead. Booking inside 48 hours adds $100, when my calendar allows.
Do you shoot same day?
No same-day bookings, except at the rush rate when my calendar allows.
Do you work holidays?
Yes. Holiday dates add $100.
When will I have the photos?
Real estate the next day, within 24 hours of the shoot. Session galleries within two weeks.
Can I call you?
No phone calls. Book on the calendar or send a request, and I reply by email within one business day.
Real estate
How long does a shoot take?
Most homes take about an hour. Larger homes, twilight and drone add time.
Do I need to be there?
No. A lockbox or door code is fine; note it on the booking form.
Where can I use the photos?
To market that listing: the MLS, your website and social media.
Twilight real estate
How big a house does $345 cover?
Homes up to 2,500 sq ft. Add $50 for each extra 1,000 sq ft.
What if the weather turns?
I reschedule for free, to the next clear evening that works for you.
Can you add twilight to a shoot I already booked?
Usually, if the evening is free. Send the address and I'll check the sunset time.
Does it work on a cloudy evening?
Light cloud can still look beautiful. Heavy rain moves the shoot to the next clear evening.
Apartments and multifamily
Can you fly over the community?
Yes, when the airspace allows. I check every address before I confirm a flight.
Who owns the photos?
I keep the copyright, and you get a license to use the photos for what we agreed: your website, listings and social media. Wider use, like ads or print campaigns, is licensed separately.
Do you shoot model units?
Yes. Add them on the booking form and I'll price them in when I confirm.
Will residents be in the photos?
Only with their OK. Most communities prefer empty spaces, and I shoot around residents.
Drone
Can you fly anywhere?
Not everywhere. Some addresses sit in controlled airspace. That's why the quote form asks for the property address: I check it first.
Can you shoot construction progress?
Yes, on a repeating schedule you choose.
What if the weather turns?
I reschedule for free, to the next clear day that works for you.
How high do you fly?
Below 400 feet, as FAA rules require, and usually much lower for homes.
Do you shoot drone video?
Ask on the quote form with what you need. Stills are the core of what I offer.
Construction progress
How often can you come out?
On the schedule you choose, for as long as the build runs.
Can you fly every site?
Not every one. Some addresses sit in controlled airspace. That's why the quote form asks for the address: I check it first.
Do you need to come on site?
For flights from inside the site, yes, following your safety rules. Some sites can be flown from outside the fence when the airspace allows.
Can you match photos from an earlier photographer?
Send me a few of their frames and I'll match the angles as closely as the site allows.
Architecture and interiors
Can you photograph the designer in the space?
Yes. Brand portraits in your own rooms pair well with an interiors shoot.
Do you shoot during service?
Usually not. I shoot before or after service so rooms are clean and guests stay out of frame. During service is possible when the shot needs it.
Who owns the photos?
I keep the copyright, and you get a license to use the photos for what we agreed: your website, listings and social media. Wider use, like ads or print campaigns, is licensed separately.
How much can we shoot in a half day?
It depends on the space and the styling. A half day usually covers several rooms or a whole restaurant, and the quote says what to expect.
Can you shoot vertical frames for Instagram?
Yes. Say so on the quote form and I'll shoot both.
Headshots and personal branding
Where do we shoot?
It depends on the look you want and where you are. Outdoors, at home, or in your own space, and I suggest spots near you.
Can you photograph a whole team?
Yes. Send how many people and where on the quote form, and I'll set up one consistent look for everyone.
Which three photos do I get?
You pick your favorites from the session, and I retouch those three.
Portraits
Where do we shoot?
It depends on the look you want and where you live. Outdoors, at home, or in your own space, and I suggest spots near you.
Can the dog come?
Yes. Pets also have their own session.
What if I feel awkward in front of a camera?
Most people do. I give simple directions, keep things moving, and the good frames come once you stop thinking about the camera.
Do you retouch?
Every photo is edited for color and light. Skin is softened gently, and anything temporary, like a blemish, can come out.
Families
What if the weather turns?
I reschedule for free, to the next day that works for you.
What if my kids won't cooperate?
They don't have to. Some of the best family photos come from kids being kids.
Can grandparents join?
Yes. For a big extended family, say so on the booking form.
Couples and engagements
Can we bring our dog?
Yes. Dogs make great engagement photos.
Do you photograph proposals?
Send the date and place on the booking form and I'll help you plan it.
High school seniors
Where do we shoot?
It depends on the look you want and where you live. I suggest spots near you.
When should seniors book?
Spring and fall are the most popular. Book early if you have a yearbook deadline.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, if it helps you relax.
Maternity
When should I book?
Around 28 to 34 weeks is the usual window. Book a few weeks ahead to hold the date.
Can my partner and kids be in the photos?
Yes.
Newborns
Do you come to us?
Yes. Newborn sessions are at your home, in the areas listed below.
When should I book?
Before the baby arrives. Book with your due date, and we move the session once the baby is here.
Do you use props and posed setups?
I keep it natural at home. Ask if you have something special in mind.
Pets
Can I be in the photos?
Yes. Say so on the booking form.
Do you photograph cats?
Yes, usually at home, where they feel safe.
What if my dog is reactive?
Say so on the booking form and we'll pick a quiet spot and time.
Mini sessions
How is a mini different from a full session?
A mini is 20 minutes and 10 edited photos in one spot. A full session gives you more time, more photos and more places.
Social media content
Who owns the photos?
I keep the copyright, and you get a license to use the photos for what we agreed: your website and social media. Wider use, like ads or print campaigns, is licensed separately.
